Focusing on the Negatives is a wall-mounted mechanical sculpture divided by a subtle wave, separating the surface into white above and black below. Two small gears, one black and one white, orbit the piece, each only becoming visible when crossing into the contrasting field. Their cyclical appearance reflects how attention is often drawn to contrast, inviting reflection on our tendency to notice and fixate on what stands out, particularly the negative, while the rest quietly fades into the background.
